USA 2002 - Huntsville

The U.S. space program began in Huntsville, Alabama in 1950 under the leadership of the German scientist Dr. Wernher van Braun. While Gerhild enjoyed shopping in Madison Square Mall, I visited the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. It features one of the world’s largest collections of space and rocket hardware.

Huntsville’s Historic District is a living museum of 19th century architecture.

In the German restaurant Ol’ Heidelberg we enjoyed German food like Sauerbraten with Knödel and Rotkraut.
